Dance 60ties
Piero Morari, a layman interested in social problems connected to marginalization, took care of a group of people living in Guatemala called “Desplazados” because of the loss of their houses, jobs and civil identity as a consequence of civil war. Together with the “Apasci” association and the “Piccini” foundation he worked to build the “Villaggio Piero Morari”. This album of dance music from the sixties recorded with the group “The The” from Brescia, which includes Chico Morari the brother of Piero, contributed to support the “Villaggio Piero Morari” and other humanitarian initiatives in Africa.
1. Sittin On The Dock Of The Bay
O. Redding, S. Cropper
Sittin’ in the morning sun
I’ll be sittin’ when the evening comes
Watching the ships roll in
Then I watch them roll away again,
yeah I’m sittin’ on the dock of the bay
Watchin’ the tide roll away,
ooh I’m just sittin’ on the dock of the bay
Wastin’ time
I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the Frisco Bay
Cuz I’ve had nothing to live for
And look like nothing’s gonna come my way
So, I’m just gon’ sit on the dock of the bay
Watchin’ the tide roll away,
ooh I’m sittin’ on the dock of the bay
Wastin’ time
Looks like nothing’s gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can’t do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I’ll remain the same,
Sittin’ here resting my bones
And this lonely mess won’t leave me alone,
listen Two thousand miles I roam
Just to make this dock my home,
now I’m just gon’ sit at the dock of a bay
Watchin’ the tide roll away,
ooh Sittin’ on the dock of the bay
Wastin’ time
2. Out Of Time
M. Jagger, K. Richards
You don’t know what’s going on
You’ve been away for far too long
You can’t come back and think you are still mine
You’re out of touch, my baby
My poor discarded baby
I said, baby, baby, baby, you’re out of time
Well, baby, baby, baby, you’re out of time
I said, baby, baby, baby, you’re out of time
You are all left out
Out of there without a doubt
‘Cause baby, baby, baby, you’re out of time
You thought you were a clever girl
Giving up your social whirl
But you can’t come back
and be the first in line, oh no
You’re obsolete my baby
My poor old-fashioned baby
I said baby, baby, baby you’re out of time
Well, baby, baby, baby, you’re out of time
I said, baby, baby, baby, you’re out of time
Yes, you are left out Out of there without a doubt
‘Cause baby, baby, baby, you’re out of time
I said, baby, baby, you’re out of time
3. Long Train Running
J.J. Cale
Down around the corner half a mile from here
see them both feet run and you watch them dissapear
without love where would you be now
without love
though i saw miss lucy down along the track
she lost her home and her family and she won t be coming back
without love where would you be now
without love
with the feeling always central and the southern central freight
you got to keep on pushing mamma you know there running late
without love where would you be now
without love
when the pistons keep on turning and go round and round
and the steel reels are cold and hard and the moutain ain t no down
without love where would you be now
without love
4. Cocaine
J.J. Cale
If you want to hang out
you gotta take her out
Cocaine.
If you want to get down
down on the ground
Cocaine.
She don’t lie
she don’t lie
she don’t lie
Cocaine.
If you got bad news
you want to kick them blues
cocaine.
when your day is done and you got to run
Cocaine.
She don’t lied
she don’t lie
she don’t lie
Cocaine.
If your thing is gone and you want to ride on
Cocaine.
Don’t forget this fact
you can’t get back
Cocaine.
She don’t lie
she don’t lie
she don’t lie
Cocaine.
a hundred magic finger is whirling carousel
the medicine within me
no doctor could prescribe
5. Venus
Van Leewen
A godess on a mountain top,
was burning like a silver flame.
The summit of beauty she was,
and Venus was her name.
She’s got it, Yeah baby she’s got it.
Well, I’m your Venus, I’m your fire at your desire.
Well, I’m your Venus, I’m your fire at your desire.
Her weapons were her crystal eyes,
making every man a man.
Black as a darknight she was,
got what no one else had.
She’s got it, Yeah baby she’s got it.
Well, I’m your Venus, I’m your fire at your desire.
Well, I’m your Venus, I’m your fire at your desire.
The goddess on the mountain top
was burning like a silver flame
the summit of beauty and love
and Venus was her name
chorus
She’s got it, yeah baby she’s got it
well I’m your Venus
I’m your fire, at your desire
She’s got it, yeah baby she’s got it
well I’m your Venus
I’m your fire, at your desire
Her weapons were her crystal eyes
making every man she met
black as the dark night she was
got what no-one else had
Shocking Blue (The Netherlands)
The goddess on the mountain top
was burning like a silver flame
the summit of beauty and love
and Venus was her name
chorus
She’s got it, yeah baby she’s got it
well I’m your Venus
I’m your fire, at your desire
She’s got it, yeah baby she’s got it
well I’m your Venus
I’m your fire, at your desire
Her weapons were her crystal eyes
making every man she met
black as the dark night she was
got what no-one else had
6. Black Is Black
Los Bravos
Black is black I want my baby back It’s gray, it’s gray Since she went away, Ooh-Ooh What can I do ‘Cause I-I-I-I-I’m feelin’ blue
If I had my way She’d be back today But she don’t intend To see me again, Ooh-Ooh What can I do ‘Cause I-I-I-I-I’m feelin’ blue
I can’t choose It’s too much to lose My love’s too strong Wow! Maybe if she would come back to me Then it can’t go wrong
Bad is bad That I feel so sad t’s time, it’s time That I found peace of mind, Ooh-Ooh What can I do ‘Cause I-I-I-I-I’m feelin’ blue

7.Gimme Some Lovin
S. Winwood, Davis, M. Winwood
Well, my temperature’s rising and my feet hit the floor
Twenty people knocking ‘cause they’re wanting some more
Let me in, baby, I don’t know what you’ve got
But you’d better take it easy, ‘cause this place is hot
So glad we made it, so glad we made it
You got to gimme some lovin’, gimme some lovin’
Gimme some lovin’ every day
Well, I feel so good, everything is sounding hot
Better take it easy, ‘cause the place is on fire
Been a hard day and I don’t know what to do
Wait a minute, baby, it could happen to you
So glad we made it, so glad we made it
You got to gimme some lovin’, gimme some lovin’
Gimme some lovin’ every day
Well, I feel so good, everybody’s getting higher
Better take it easy, ‘cause the place is on fire
Been a hard day, nothing went too good
Now I’m gonna relax, honey, everybody should
So glad we made it, so glad we made it
You got to gimme some lovin’, gimme some lovin’
Gimme some lovin’ every day
8. I Can Get No Satisfaction
M. Jagger, K. Richards
I can’t get no satisfaction
I can’t get no satisfaction
‘cause I try
and I try
and I try
and I try
I can’t get no,
I can’t get no
When I’m drivin’ in my car
And that man comes on the radio
And he’s tellin’ me more and more
About some useless information
Supposed to fire my imagination
I can’t get no
Oh, no, no, no
Hey, hey, hey.
That’s what I say
I can’t get no…
When I’m watchin’ my TV
And that a man come on to tell me
How white my shirt can be
Well, he can’t be a man
‘cause he doesn’t smoke
the same cigarettes as me
I can’t get no
Oh, no, no, no
Hey, hey, hey.
That’s what I say
I can’t get no satisfaction.
I can’ get no girl with action
‘cause I try
and I try and I try and I try
I can’t get no,
I can’t get no
When I’m ridin’ ‘round the world
And I’m doin’ this and I’m signin’ that
And I’m tryin’ to make some girl
Who tell me: baby, better come back letter next week
‘cause you see I’m on a losing streak
I can’t get no
Oh, no, no, no
ey, hey, hey.
That’s what I say
I can’t get no
I can’t get no
I can’t get no satisfaction
No satisfaction,
No satisfaction,
No satisfaction
9. Proud Mary
J.C. Fogerty
Left a good job in the city,
Workin’ for the man ev’ry night and day,
And I never lost one minute of sleepin’,
Worryin’ ‘bout the way things might have been.
Chorus:
Big wheel keep on turnin’,
Proud Mary keep on burnin’,
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river.
Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis,
Pumped a lot of pain down in New Orleans,
But I never saw the good side of the city,
‘Til I hitched a ride on a river boat queen.
Chorus:
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river.
If you come down to the river,
Bet you gonna find some people who live.
You don’t have to worry ‘cause you have no money,
People on the river are happy to give.
Chorus:
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river. Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river. Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river.
10. Have You Ever Seen The Rain
J.C. Fogerty
Someone told me long ago
There’s a calm before the storm, I know
And it’s been coming for some time
When it’s over, so they say
It’ll rain a sunny day, I know
Shining down like water
Ref.: I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain
I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day
Yesterday and days before
Sun is cold and rain is hard, I know
Been that way for all my time
‘Til forever on it goes
Thru the circle fast and slow, I know
And it can’t stop, I wonder
Ref.: I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain
I wanna know
Have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day
11. Like A Rolling Stone
Bob Dylan
Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn’t you ?
People’d call, say, “Beware doll, you’re bound to fall”
You thought they were all kiddin’ you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hangin’ out
Now you don’t talk so loud
Now you don’t seem so proud
About having to be scrounging for your next meal.
How does it feel
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone ?
You’ve gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely
But you know you only used to get juiced in it
And nobody has ever taught you how to live on the street
And now you find out you’re gonna have to get used to it
You said you’d never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but know you realize
He’s not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And say do you want to make a deal?
How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone ?
You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns
When they all come down and did tricks for you
You never understood that it ain’t no good
You shouldn’t let other people get your kicks for you
You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat
Ain’t it hard when you discover that
He really wasn’t where it’s at
After he took from you everything he could steal.
How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone ?
Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people
They’re drinkin’, thinkin’ that they got it made
Exchanging all precious gifts
But you’d better take your diamond ring, you’d better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you, you can’t refuse
When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose
You’re invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal.
How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone ?
12. Me And Bobby Mcgee
K. Kristofferson, F. L. Forster
Busted flat in Baton Rouge, headin’ for the train,
Feelin’ nearly faded as my jeans.
Bobby thumbed a diesel down, just before it rained;
Took us all the way to New Orleans.
I took my harpoon out of my dirty red bandanna,
And was blowing sad while Bobby sang the blues.
With them windshield wipers slappin’ time,
And Bobby clappin’ hands,
We finally sang up every song that driver knew.
Freedom’s just another word for nothing’ left to lose:
Nothin’ ain’t worth nothin’ but it’s free.
Feeling good was easy, Lord, when Bobby sang the blues.
Feeling good was good enough for me;
Good enough for me and Bobby McGee.
From the coal mines of Kentucky to the California sun,
Bobby shared the secrets of my soul.
Standin’ right beside me, Lord, through everything I’ve done,
Every night she kept me from the cold.
Then somewhere near Salinas, Lord, I let her slip away,
Lookin’ for the home I hope she’ll find.
And I’d trade all my tomorrows for a single yesterday,
Holdin’ Bobby’s body next to mine.
Freedom’s just another word for nothing’ left to lose:
Nothin’ left is all she left for me.
Feeling good was easy, Lord, when Bobby sang the blues.
Buddy, that was good enough for me;
Good enough for me and Bobby McGee.
La da da la la na na na
La da da na na.
La la la da, Me and Bobby McGee.
La la la la la da da da
La la la da da.
La la la da, Me and Bobby McGee.
La la la la la na na na
La la la da da.
La da da da, Me and Bobby McGee.

13. Ma Che Colpa Abbiamo Noi
B. Lind, Mogol
La notte cade su di noi
la pioggia cade su di noi
la gente non sorride piu’
vediamo un mondo vecchio che
ci sta crollando addosso ormai
ma che colpa abbiamo noi?
(Instrumental)
sara’ una bella societa’
fondata sulla liberta’
pero’ spiegateci perche’
se non pensiamo come voi
ci disprezzate come mai?
forse c’e’
e se non la sapete voi
ma che colpa abbiamo noi?
ma che colpa abbiamo noi
